Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan  
                                                      BOCHARNIKOV Mikhail Nikolayevich 

Born on March 6, 1948.

1971 – graduated from the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Has a command of English, French and Amharic. Started his career in 1971 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
Held various positions in the Foreign Ministry headquarters and diplomatic missions abroad.

  • 1990-1992 – Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the USSR, Russia to the Republic of Zimbabwe
  • 1992-1996 – Ambassador of Russia to the Republic of Zambia
  • 1996-1999 – Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of Africa
  • 1999-2003 – Ambassador of Russia to Greece
  • 2003-2006 – Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (was responsible for the issues of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict resolution)
  • Since December 12, 2006 – Ambassador of Russia to the Republic of Kazakhstan

Has the rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation.
Married, with one daughter.
